What is TASKS?
TASKS is our proven framework for writing agent prompts that consistently perform well. It stands for: Tone, Actions, Specifics, Knowledge, and Safety.
T - Tone
Define how the agent should sound:
- Personality traits (friendly, professional, empathetic)
- Communication style (conversational, formal, casual)
- Energy level (enthusiastic, calm, neutral)
- Response length (brief, detailed, adaptive)
A - Actions
Specify what the agent should DO:
- Primary goal (book appointments, qualify leads, etc.)
- Secondary goals (collect contact info, answer FAQs)
- Tool usage (when to book, when to look up contacts)
- Handoff criteria (when to transfer to human)
S - Specifics
Include business-specific details:
- Business name, location, hours
- Services offered and pricing
- Common questions and answers
- Booking rules and availability
K - Knowledge
What should the agent know?
- Product/service information
- FAQs and common objections
- Team member names and roles
- Policies and procedures
S - Safety
Set boundaries and guardrails:
