Your First Agent

Create and deploy your first AI agent in under 10 minutes.

Prerequisites

Before creating your first agent, make sure you have:

  • An active Automation Studios account
  • Your GoHighLevel account connected
  • At least one sub-account created
  • A Retell AI account (for voice agents)

Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to create your first voice agent:

  1. 1Go to Agent Studio from the sidebar
  2. 2Click 'Create Agent' in the top right
  3. 3Select 'Voice Agent' and choose Inbound or Outbound
  4. 4Give your agent a name (e.g., 'Appointment Setter')
  5. 5Select a voice from the voice library
  6. 6Write your agent's prompt - describe its personality and purpose
  7. 7Enable the GHL tools your agent needs (booking, contact lookup, etc.)
  8. 8Click 'Save' to create the agent
  9. 9Use 'Test Call' to try your agent before going live
  10. 10Assign a phone number to make it live

Here's a simple starting prompt for an appointment-setting agent:

  • You are a friendly receptionist for [Business Name].
  • Your goal is to help callers book appointments.
  • Be conversational and helpful. Keep responses brief.
  • Always confirm the caller's name and phone number.
